Instructor Profile:
Mr. Scott Roberts
Sam Dan, #21767
Mr. Scott Roberts has had a lifelong
involvement with Tang Soo Do now going on over 20 years. As Chief Instructor of
Warrior Martial Arts I, he is able to bring this experience into the school to
provide an exciting and challenging environment in which everyone is able to
grow and learn.
| He began his Martial Arts career, in
1981, at age
9 in the small Midwest town of Keokuk Iowa. While active in wrestling,
track, and tennis, Tang Soo Do quickly became his preferred activity. Mr.
Roberts received his first degree back belt at age 12 in 1984 and began
teaching Tang Soo Do at that point. His first Instructor was Mr. Carl Clarrizo,
Sam Dan. Mr. Clarrizo trained in Korea while in the military and brought his
techniques back to the Midwest where he was attending school. Mr. Clarrizo
was honored to have Hwang Kee on his Black Belt examiners board.

Mr. Roberts received his 2nd Degree Black
belt at age 16 in 1988. He joined the WTSDA in 1990, six years after
receiving his First Degree Back Belt. During this time he trained with
many of the Region 3 Masters, such as Master St. James (Third
from right), and Master Witten (Second from right).
At age 19, just short
of his 3rd Degree Black Belt test, he moved away from the area to attend
university. Since that time he has been the chief instructor at several
successful Martial Arts studios on the East Coast and has also spent time training
(along with his wife, Cereana Roberts) with Master
Kwan in England.
